    A highlight for the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi will be the Queen’s Baton Relay 2010 Delhi. One of the longest relays in history commenced when the Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi left Buckingham Palace on 29 October 2009. The baton then traversed the length and breadth of the Commonwealth for 240 days, visiting all of the other 70 nations, before embarking upon a 100 day national tour of India.

  • Day 075 - Goa to Kolhapur

    On the 25 June 2010 the Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi crossed the border between Pakistan and India with a ceremonial crossing at the Wagah-Attari border near Amritsar in the State of Punjab. The arrival of the baton onto Indian soil is a major milestone on the relay calendar and will bring the baton and the relay to life. The Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi will travel for a 100 day period to all 28 states of India, visiting every capital city and will also go to its seven union territories covering more than 20,000 kilometres, reinforcing the theme of the friendly games by creating an all inclusive relay. By the end of its journey, the baton will have passed through many thousands of hands on many different modes of transport across land, air and sea. In total it will be a 340 day journey travelling excess of 190,000 kilometres.
